Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing Game Journal, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You may use the service only if you can legally agree to these terms in your location. If you use Game Journal for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization to these terms.

Your account

Steam is currently used to authenticate accounts. You are responsible for the security of your Steam account and devices, and for activity performed through your Game Journal session. Do not attempt to access another person's account. Notify the service operator through the deployment's published contact channel if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your content

You retain ownership of journals, reviews, lists, notes, media, and other content you create. You grant the service operator a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Game Journal or comply with law. You are responsible for having the rights to content you submit and for choosing appropriate visibility settings.

Acceptable use

Do not use Game Journal to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malicious code, harass others, scrape or overload the service, interfere with security controls, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or automate access in a way that harms the service or its providers. The operator may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, risk, or legal obligations.

Third-party services and AI

Game Journal integrates with or links to services such as Steam, IGDB, SteamGridDB, Cloudflare, and third-party artwork hosts. Their own terms and policies apply to their services. Availability, metadata, artwork, and imported data may change or be incomplete, and Game Journal does not control those providers.

AI-generated titles and recommendations can be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable. They are optional suggestions, not professional advice, and you remain responsible for how you use them.

Service availability and termination

Game Journal is provided as a free service and may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued. Features and provider integrations may be added or removed. The operator may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, security risks, legal requirements, or operational reasons. Where practical, reasonable notice should be provided for material changes or discontinuation.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Game Journal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The operator is not responsible for third-party services, lost data, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Trademarks and icon notices

The Steam glyph used by Game Journal is sourced from Simple Icons. The Simple Icons project is made available under CC0, but third-party trademarks and brand rights are not granted by that license. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners.

Game Journal is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation, Steam, IGDB, SteamGridDB, Cloudflare, or other named providers.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as Game Journal changes. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law. Questions should be sent to the service operator through the contact channel published for the deployment.
